CHECK THIS ARTIST: CHIARA FERSINI

"The only way we have to fight against our demons is not to delete them or to get rid of them. They are part of us, we just can try to transform them and to do that, we have to know them, give them a name, love them definitely.
This can be hard but only when we'll learn to accept our demons we will be able to turn them into something good, that means turning ourselves into something better too."

Italian photog Chiara Fersini of Himitsuhana Photography took this concept on demons given to her by a friend, and created her own visual representation. For this and other strikingly beautiful imagery for your viewing pleasure check the above link or visit her photostream.

CHECK THIS: HAIR BY MARC LAROCHE

A signature of style...your hair often tells its own story and has it's own personality.
Photographer Marc Laroche captures your coif in its own light.

CHECK THIS ARTIST: PETER LIU

In part 2/2 of the super unofficial underwater photography series, I present the work of photographer and social media consultant Peter Liu. I had his page saved in my project folder, and seeing the post below reminded me. Fascinating images.

VISUAL STIMULI: THE CYCLOTROPE

The Cyclotrope from tim Wheatley on Vimeo.

It never ceases to amaze me how artists have the ability to take the most simple of elements and weave them into a cohesive framework that is pleasing to the senses. Created by UK animator Tim Wheatley, the cyclotrope uses an ordinary bicycle wheel and a series of 18 images to create its effect. Pretty basic, pretty cool.

CHECK THIS ARTIST: ORVAR ATLI THORGEIRSSON

Iceland seems to overflow with majestic vistas.
Resident photographer Orvar Atli Thorgeirsson seems to be able to capture them with a certain polished suitability.
I can't help but tilt my head and stare at the galaxy shot, in a vain attempt to comprehend the vastness of what I'm looking at...

CHECK THIS ARTIST: YULIA GORBACHENKO

Quickly becoming one of my favorite fashion photogs, Yulia Gorbachenko has been featured on the Verdict Blog a few times. Loves what she does with light.

VERDICT WORK: MCLA MAGAZINE SHOOT

Verdict Photography is proud to announce its partnership with MCLA Magazine.
You gotta dig on this dope cover shot and a two page spread found in this month's MCLA magazine featuring St. Mary's Lacrosse Team.

CHECK THIS: DIESEL JEANS 'DIRTY JOBS' CAMPAIGN

Check out Ad Agency Vasava and their new campaign for Diesel Jeans.
I didn't know that fashion photog and pastry chef were considered dirty jobs.
Gonna consult Mike Rowe on that one.

Monday

CHECK THIS ARTIST: LOIS GREENFIELD

"The ostensible subject of my photographs may be motion, but the subtext is Time. A dancer’s movements illustrate the passage of time, giving it a substance, materiality, and space. In my photographs, time is stopped, a split second becomes an eternity, and an ephemeral moment is solid as sculpture."
-Lois Greenfield

Taken from her artist profile... I couldn't have put it better.
Beautiful work.

Saturday

CHECK THIS ARTIST: TOM HOOPS

I'm always on the lookout for dark, edgy/gritty, yet refined art. British freelance photographer Tom Hoops knows how to combine these elements seamlessly to create poignant photos.

VISUAL STIMULI: DARK SIDE OF THE LENS

DARK SIDE OF THE LENS from Astray Films on Vimeo.

Stunning video with thoughtful musings on photography and being a photographer. It was put out by Astray Films out of Ireland, directed by Mickey Smith, and the DP was Allan Wilson.

Wednesday

VERDICT NEWS: MCLA MAG SHOOT W/ ST. MARYS COLLEGE

Check out this dope behind the scenes video from a recent Verdict cover shoot for MCLA magazine. We visited St. Mary's College lacrosse team and hung with head coach Colin Knightly.

I can't show you guys the pics yet, but I'll give you a few hints: rock n roll, a limousine, and beautiful babes.
The cover shot is beyond rad so be sure to check back in a bit.

Big thanks to Agent Ogden for putting the vid together.

CHECK THIS ARTIST: EDWARD HORSFORD

Have you ever wondered what a water balloon looks like a split-second after it pops? I hadn't, but I also had no idea the result would be something so resplendent. These photos are from a high-speed series done by UK situated artist/designer Edward Horsford, and I dig.

Thursday
